ALCE is located in the prestigious Santo Stefano district and less than 500metres from the historic centre it is serviced by some of the main bus routes As a city, Bologna offers an exciting alternative destination for an authentic immersion in Italian language and culture. It is home to the oldest university in the western world and has been enthusiastically embracing foreign students for almost 1000 years. Whilst avoiding mass tourism and with an exciting cultural and social landscape, the city provides a great opportunity to meet Italians. Bologna is well connected by international and low-cost airports and additionally serves as the main rail junction in Italy.
Whilst being a city of art in its own right it is conveniently situated near many other historical centres such as Florence, Venice, Milan, Verona, Mantua, Parma, Padua, Ravenna, and Ferrara.
Bologna, the capital of the Emilia-Romagna region, is a city steeped in history and culture. It is one of the most amazing urban centres in existence but what really distinguishes Bologna's urban character are its porticoes (recently submitted for nomination as a World Heritage Site).
There is a saying that the "Bolognese" do not realize how beautiful their city is. Actually, they are well aware of it!
Bologna is the result of a magical and alchemic mixture of art and culture.
It has more than 30 museums, but it is also a lively, dynamic, vibrant and cheerful place, brought alive by the thousands of university students who have been flocking to the Alma Mater Studiorum - the
oldest University in the world - since 1088 AD, the year of its establishment.
Bologna is also an important gastronomic centre and the main railway junction in the North.

At the moment we do not have any elementary course running in april. It is certainly possible for a single student to book a room in a B&B in town, walking distance from the school prices are still valid.
In case I receive a request from this person I'll let you know
