Tenbury Wells is a market town in the north western portion of the Malvern Hills District of Worcestershire, England. The town was originally called Temettebury. Students enrolled in English school in Tenbury Wells will surely notice the architecturally unique Pump Rooms. These were built to house baths where mineral water was available. James Cranston of Birmingham designed the Pump Rooms to resemble his greenhouse. He is also responsible for building another unique structure in the town, the Round Market. The town has other interesting architectural structures, including the Tenbury Museum which is housed in the old Goff’s Charity School. The museum is only open from spring through September, so be sure to check the hours before planning a visit. Tenbury Wells is an interesting place to shop. Even though there are no major supermarkets, students taking English courses in Tenbury Wells will see that they still have a number of options. There are shops that provide meats and cheeses, while others offer fresh fish or organic breads. There is also a small supermarket, as well as shops specializing in fruit and vegetables.
