The city of Chester is located in Windsor County in the state of Vermont. It was named after George Augustus Frederick, the Earl of Chester. One of the first things that students taking English courses in Chester will notice about the town is its ‘Gingerbread Victorian’ homes. Another interesting portion of the city is the Stone House Village. The stone houses are pre-Civil War and were built with locally quarried stones. Because of its location, Chester offers easy access to the Okemo Mountain Ski Area in Ludlow. The resort has activities available for visitors year round. In the winter, visitors can ski, snowboard and ice skate. During the summer, visitors play tennis, jog, and golf. Students enrolled in English school in Chester can expect to experience warm, humid summers and cold winters. The fall is particularly beautiful with the changing of the leaves in brilliant red, orange and gold. Be sure to visit the Chester Depot, a Victorian Train Station. General English Plus is a 21 hour per week, intensive course which combines General English and Plus Six. General English covers all 4 communicative skills and essential grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and phrases.
General English is a full time, 15 hour per week course which aims to give you confidence in communicating in an English speaking environment. The course is taught in weekly modules focusing on the skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing whilst covering essential grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and common English phrases.
Plus Six is a 6 hour per week, part time course which focuses on the use of reading, writing, speaking, and listening in a communicative way.
The syllabus is created by the teachers and offers dynamic and interactive lessons each week.
One to One classes pin point areas for improvement and provide opportunity to work on individual needs. Classes take place at the student's convenience, either at the academy, the student's home or workplace.
