Berlin, is the capital city of Germany and is a city filled with history and plenty of modern culture as well. Students interested in studying German courses in Berlin will have a rich past, and a lively present to choose from and enjoy during their stay. Berlin is the largest city in Germany, and although it was badly damaged during World War II and split apart during the Cold War, Berlin still has rebounded and become a very modern city, with a still-visible past within it. In some places in the heart of the city, visitors can view medieval buildings almost right next to ultra modern structures. Students at a German school in Berlin will find themselves in a multicultural city, with plenty of residents who have imigrated from other cities and countries. It also has many museums, like the Museumsinsel or "Museum Island", as well as beautiful churches, and great theatres and festivals. Visitors can also see remaining sections of the historic Berlin Wall that remains on display in the city.
