Tuition: 15 hours of group lessons per week. Each lesson is 60 minutes.

Our Young at Heart Programme offers mature students the opportunity to study with like-minded students of the same age range, from all over the world. In addition to classes, the students can choose to take part in a tailor-made, enriching Social and Cultural Programme.

Our Standard General English Course covers all aspects of the language including; grammar, usage, reading, writing, listening and speaking. Specific focus is placed on oral communication and all methodology is topical and interesting.

Each lesson has a focus on communication skills, using learner autonomy approaches to foster a student-centered classroom. Teachers encourage students to develop their English language skills using role-plays, authentic texts, grammar in context tasks and a range of other techniques.

The General English Fluency course is our most popular course which consists of 20 lessons of fun and challenging group lessons per week. In class students work on developing their productive and receptive skills while also increasing their accuracy and fluency.

The GE Fluency Plus course combines the Fluency course with 6 extra lessons of English training in the afternoons. These afternoon classes are small group classes.

The GE Fluency Intensive allows students to combine General English classes in the morning with 6 lessons individual training on 2 afternoons per week. Before beginning this course students will complete an extensive needs analysis and interview with our Academic Manager to design their afternoon programme.

The morning is divided into two parts and two teachers usually share the class. The course is designed to improve students’ abilities to use language accurately and fluently while concentrating on the skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing.

A Semi-Intensive English course offers the balance to enjoy your destination and finish your course with a higher level of English. Semi-Intensive English Courses focus on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking.

The General English course consists of 20 lessons each week and is the least intensive option offered at Kaplan. This course allows students to improve their English while still leaving time for sightseeing and leisure during their stay.

This course puts an additional focus on conversational English or Business English. It includes all elements of the General English course plus an additional one hour elective.

The General English Courses have a strong emphasis on conversation although the competencies of reading, writing and listening are also practiced. The curriculum for all courses is well-planned and the emphasis is on making the classes as interesting as possible while improving your level of English as rapidly as possible.
