Known as the “Premier Private 2-Year College”, Marymount College is located just south of downtown Los Angeles, on scenic bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The hilltop campus is surrounded by the community of Rancho Palos Verdes and perched above the beautiful California coastline.
The nationality and age mix at FLS Saddleback College varies over different time periods, courses and levels. Throughout the year, the average age is 22. In the summer, the average age is 17.
FLS Saddleback College does not hold classes on the holiday dates below. The school does not compensate for these holidays, so make sure to choose your start date accordingly.
Everything about the English class was great!!!
There are several classes for different English levels to meet students’ needs. My teachers were very interesting and paid attention to the students in order to tailor teaching lessons to our abilities. The school organized many activities for us students to participate. My favorite part of the school was my host family whose home is located in a very pretty and safe neighborhood. I am lucky to have my nice host parents who took good care of me while I was in California.
I didn't like it as much as I should've. It's a cool school but the location is not good. It was a bit far and it lacks basic facilities like place to buy coffee or food. Some of the teachers were good but my teacher was so annoying. She wants me to change my seat in class. Even in the middle of the course, there would be new students and the books would also change. 1) The educational part was superb. The teachers were very helpful in everything that we were doing.
2) Activities were definitely a little bit below initial expectations.
3) Housing was something that could spoil the whole impression. The first family which hosted me was very unfriendly and the conditions for living were very close to horrible. But thanks to the college administration who demonstrated the understanding and eagerness to cooperate I managed to change the host family and the overall impression was saved. My next host parents were really great. Staying with them was a big difference. Everything: facilities provided, comfort, food was far better than with the first family.

Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture in a comfortable setting while studying English in Los Angeles. These homes are often between 15 - 40 minutes away from the school by public transport. Families usually offer affordable meal plans that allow you to sample the local cuisine. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance. We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
If you are studying full time in the United States for more than 18 hours per week, you will receive an I-20 that you need to submit to the US embassy along with your F-1 student visa application. The I-20 has a SEVIS tracking number on it. Students who wish to apply for a student visa must pay the SEVIS fee online before going to the US embassy or consulate for their visa interview.
Your I-20 will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged $65 when you register.
Please note that United States law states that an I-20 can only be issued to students who intend to pursue full-time English language studies. United States law does not permit students to study part-time with an F-1 Student Visa. If you are studying for less than 18 hours per week, you have to apply for a Visitor Visa (B1/B2) on your own.
The closest airport to the school is Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
The school offers airport pickup services. If you wish to be picked up, just give us your flight details and arrival date. The price of a one-way airport transfer from Los Angeles International Airport is $85. You must book your airport transfer in advance when you register.
