Course description

The General English language course in Vancouver uses a weekly theme-based curriculum to help students learn to speak and communicate effectively in English. This dynamic course includes daily conversation activities about everyday topics designed to increase students' confidence in speaking English in a fun and comfortable atmosphere. The focus of the course is to improve students' conversation skills and to activate learned grammar structures and vocabulary in speaking.

LCI Language School Vancouver is an English language school specially designed to create a unique, friendly atmosphere. The school is located steps away from Renfrew Station, student's experience is a real immersion in a real part of Vancouver.

Your classes take place in brand new state of the-art classrooms on the main floor and you will have access to all campus facilities such as the cafeteria, library, computer study rooms and bistro!
As a LAB language student you will receive a student ID card just like the fulltime college and
high school students. Your activities will have you explore all parts of Vancouver as well as give
you a chance to make friends with domestic and international students on campus.

"It was exciting and fun"

It was new experience for me. My English has improved a lot during the studying. Classes were always fun and interesting, teachers are kind and friendly. The location is perfect: near to a sky train station and has many convenient facilities nearby. All activities were designed with special attitude to satisfy all students.

"Good but not enough"

The school is very good but the classes are formed with people with different levels of knowledge, so some people think the classes are too hard and others think they could be a little more difficult. I think this happens because the classes are formed around the year and sometimes there are no appropriate level available for all kind os students that come to the school.
However I, personally, thought the school very friendly and with very good teachers.
Unfortunatelly, I need much more than this short experience to become fluent in english.

"Every day my experience has been excellent"

Until now, I like my class. I am speaking a little more and learning a new vocabulary. The hours in class are perfect for me, from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm. The teacher has patience with my conversations and helps me in the development of ideas. The location of the school is near to the train station, approximately four blocks, so it's really near. I like the ambience or atmosphere inside of the school. The workers are nice, with excellent attention and positive attitude to help the students.

I believe the institute must have a rooms for private class with the minimum necessary tools.

Rules:
Each family has its own house rules regarding smoking, alcohol consumption, student responsibilities, cleaning, security, noise, friends visiting, telephone use, meal times, etc. Discuss these with your family. Most Canadian families do not allow smoking in their homes. Some allow smoking outside the house. Please inform us if you smoke and check your booking before arriving. Please try to discuss any requests or problems you have with your family.

Contact LAB Vancouver if you need assistance. Students are relocated if complaints are justifiable. LAB is currently placing students with host families through Cypress Accommodations. Please make sure you read and understand the conditions and guidelines outlined on the LAB website and its applications.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

Your letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged C$ 85 when you register.

Please note that we do not book flights for our students. If you are researching airfare costs, we recommend using Kayak.com, a search engine that lets you compare flight options from your home country to Vancouver based on your budget, schedule and preferences.

Travel insurance

Study abroad worry-free with Language International's health and personal effects insurance coverage. When you book a course with us, you can opt to purchase an international insurance plan that covers not only your health care cost but also loss of your personal belongings. You must book your insurance in advance when you register.
